What we’re looking for: DRP is currently seeking full-time Certified Peer Recovery Mentors to participate in our RISE UP (Recovery, Integration, Support & Empowerment) program. The Certified Peer Recovery Mentors will combine their lived experience with professional Best Practices to provide support to clients in various stages of the Recovery process. Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Certified Peer Recovery Mentors will demonstrate a comprehensive, integrated, public health approach to the delivery of early intervention and treatment services while serving members in the community through support and coaching. This position will provide brief Intervention Services and will be responsible for delivering all other direct services in a supportive, hopeful, empathic, and engaging environment for individuals seeking help with substance use. Qualifications: At least one (1) year of experience working with individuals within the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and/or Behavioral Healthcare setting. Certified Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) certification through Michigan Certification Board of Professionals (MCBAP) A valid and unrestricted State of Michigan Driver’s License Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Experience with Electronic Health/Medical Records Systems is a plus! The Peer Navigator will combine their lived experience with professional Best Practices to provide support to clients in various stages of the Recovery process. The Peer Navigator provides direct support to health system navigation, education, health advocacy, and linkage to relevant services, including social support services to those recently and/or long term diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. The Peer Navigator will work with participants minimally until the participant starts medical treatment but can continue to work with the participant as long as necessary to develop self-management tools and reach stabilization. Compensation Range: This position is supported through grant funding. As a result, compensation is determined by the grant budget and may fall within a designated pay rate or range set by that funding source. The MIH Peer Navigator will provide peer support to pregnant and postpartum people who have been identified as having risk for substance misuse. This individual will also work with community partners to develop referral pathways to health system navigation, education, health advocacy, and linkage to relevant services, including social support services for pregnant individuals that need peer support. This role requires using a specialized set of knowledge, experience, training, and skills to encourage healthy attitudes and behaviors which prevent the use/misuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Compensation Range: This position is supported through grant funding. As a result, compensation is determined by the grant budget and may fall within a designated pay rate or range set by that funding source.
